It's nice when this hobby really helps you. I slipped out of work to pick up my Lenco oilite bearings, and got talking to the guy at the bearing shop about a problem I had at work - what I needed I said, was a very large oilite bearing for a 10 Ton boom that has to be swung out with just a small winch from the side of an oil rig.  And he introduced me to 'Slew Rings'  - very large diameter ball races, made just for this purpose, crane jibs and the like.  So I have the solution, thinks "Thanks to Lenco" smiling

at last finally got it going - listening right now (Candi Stanton), though bearings and idler remain unchanged.  Beautiful live sound, specially with daiwoks Midas touch.  Not tweaked anything yet - but really pleased. decoupled bearing works fine, just eneough clearance, and seems oil tight, though had a small flood when dropped platter on, cos forgot to shrink the heat shrink smiling
