Indeed....the simplicity is stunning..... cool

Is there any chance of getting the schematic of your version?

Yes... the  simplicity of the actual circuitry implemented is "stunning" undecided

This is the circuitry inside the black epoxy case of an LM 1875:

In all seriousness, there's a real danger when using integrated circuits in confusing simplicity for low component count.  Please don't fall into a common trap, the two terms are not the equivalent!!!

Cheers,
Steve.

I get your point, Steve, but I think we all know that chips are stuffed with tiny magical electrical components.  What's very attractive about a build like this is the visual simplicity of the visible layout, the small overall space required, and the simplicity of construction from the DIY hobbyist's point of view.

Oh... well pardon me indeed for making such a trivial comment....

I'm still in agreement with Steve. There's a bunch going on in there, every junction of which does have an effect on the sound.   But they do kick butt from a simplicity standpoint.

and it does mean you can have very short signal paths within the build

I wouldn't mind a schematic of that myself, cct diags are easy enough to find with both single and dual rail supplies but I couldn't find one with that minimal amount of components.

LM1875's within the UK cost £1.88 from RS Components (minimum purchase 5) and £2.50 from Cricklewood Electronics (available singly) both plus VAT and where applicable postage.

A +/- 12, 15 or 25 volt PSU wouldn't cost too much, I'd quite like to try one myself.

Peter, the thread starter, is on holiday for a coupla weeks so it's unlikely we'll see a schematic here for a while but if anybody else knows of it - please share.

Steve, not trivial at all - on the contrary a meaningful reminder, but from a DIY perspective Peter's amp simply does look simple.... cool

The schematic is the most basic form of what's in the datasheet. Reese gave it to me maybe he can post it.

You might want to try playing around with the power supply. It makes a big difference sometimes depending on the speakers.

It´s not a straight forward thing and involves both voltage and size. I found an 18V/200+VA transformer worked best for my setup.

I've built a new PSU for this thing with a 300VA/18V toroid (the transformer alone is over 3kg shocked)
The difference it makes is enormous, well worth the investment.
Much darker background, way better focus and it already was very good afro

Amazing smiley that must be the funniest PSU vs AMP ratio of all times.
I like it grin

Ordered from Conrad. I think it is German made.
