Hi,
anyone heard this dac? I have the chance to buy one, professionally built with very good components. It has Tentlab clock, usb, spdif, optical usb and more. Price is around 1000 euros(cost of materials)
Happy for other recommandations in the same price region.
Thanks!

Twisted Pear have a good reputation, never tried one...

Which kit are you interested in?

Hi Jon,
it is the 9008 usb/spdif dac. It is completed with upgraded parts(BG, Mundorf, tent clock + +) Never heard one either but it is supposed to be "close to analog" tongue
I think it a bit expensive and the chassis has no waf....

(ironically two months later the Buffalo DAC came and bettered the SATCH at 1/2 the price.)

welcome to the world of digital - very short life span  Roll Eyes

I did plan to audition and buy the Satch as a kit, but its hard to keep up with new dacs coming and going. I am sure the Satch is good as I have heard other kits from Brian Cherry and all very good quality ........his office is 2 train stops from my new home, like 10 minutes away, but he does not open during weekends, only week days ......looks like I need to take a sicky one day  wink
