I am new to this site and am waiting for delivery of my Lenco 75 for a project deck of my own After seeing this thread I can honestly say I wish I never read it. I have a jelco 12" arm waiting for the new deck and now have the familiar feeling of audio desire for one of these linear arms. I guess the reason I like 12" arms is also the reason you guys use the linear arm, less deviation from the ideal angle. The 12" arm also gives more mass holding the cartridge and less angular deviation on a warped record or where the center hole is not exactly placed. How do you find the linear arm does against these problems and what are your comparisons between the linear and a good 12 incher - tonearm, that is- I keep rereading this thread and hope I can maintain control against my perceived need for this tonearm. Chas. I don't know Chas... I'm pretty sure you need one if you've been looking at this for very long.

Chas. Welcome Chas, I've not got a 12incher so can't comment but I've some warped records and some with off centre holes, one is particularly bad. The T3pro has no issues tracking them (with my Decca SG). There's not a lot of mass in the wand but this doesn't seem to affect the sonics or tracking ability in any way. The distance between pivot and tip is 65mm in my setup although this can be longer (adding extra mass as a consequence) or shorter which some say brings more dynamism I'm as happy as a pig in poo with mine and unlikely to tinker as it's plain perfect to my ears. One thing that can throw it off track is dirty vinyl so you'll need to keep them free from dust, etc.

Hello everyone. Few weeks ago, I have received from Vic an adaptator to use a Clément cartridge with the Terminator. Today I have received from Mr Bernard the cartridge with an SME adaptator. I waits for it since I was able to listen to the turntable that I made for a friend and whose hearing had subjugated, the phono stage is a Sentec EQ 10 like mine. http://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=20431.0I was able to listen to the result with the terminator and I can say that I am not disappointed, the result corresponds to my expectations.

I have always thought a Clément on a linear tracking tonearm would be the ultimate in Mono replay. You have done it: FÉLICITATIONS! Looks like a very serious implementation too. Can you tell us a little bit more about the sound?

Hi Pierre,
I am not sure than a tracking tonearm is so importante for a mono than for a stéréo cartridge, at start I just hope than it was so good than with the Ortofon tonearm of 13,5 inches.
The résult is yes. I just start from yesterday evenning to hear records, but I think to get the best of a Clément, the sound is more "supple" than this one of my friend with the Ortofon, but after Sentec he use ML7 and Dartzeel amplifier and me a DIY valve before amplifier and a Moscode like amplifier, and perhaps the diference come from that.
I like very deep and articulated bass, a medium dense and expressive, the truly and beauty of instruments and over all the life of this cartridge.

So the sound is more smooth (plus doux) with the Clément? Anyway, enjoy!!

Hi Pierre.
Not exactly, it is dificult to explain for me, it is perhaps a very little less stressed but in comparaison of a Clément with a Terminator to another one with Ortofon 13,5 inches, the two on Lenco with mine less elaborate (not for a long time) than this one with Ortofon and valve amplifier for me and electronical for my friend.

Hello everyone.
I have try from some days the new Nylon pivot screw of the tomahawk, the last upgrade of Vic, I like, the sound seems more clean. The new counterweight system is also more easy to use.

I can't imagine how the nylon bearing will resist wearing over time Never heard of nylon bearings either
