headbang very impressive! You DIY'ers impress me. Maybe, a big maybe, I'll get going this winter on something DIY besides speakers or TTs - just don't hold your breath.

I'm so spoiled by my [archaic] micromega DUO.Pro 's [bitstream] sonic fingerprint that I've never once thought of upgrading it. It's meanwhile fed from the MuFi A1 CD PRO via Zoo's digi IC doing bedroom service. You did your clock. Any idea whether my DAC is clocking via the A1 or 'internal'? That might be a realistic mod to try if I'm hearing the micromega's.

very interesting coming back to this as I am now using a Behringer Ultramatch Pro with my SONY DVD PR50 as a transport and streaming music from my Macbook Pro via Airport Express to the Behringer. The sound quality is very impressive as I now have some Master Files to play with. I know the Behinger Ultrmatch Pro is another one these highly tweakable DAC's.

Hi John!
Thanks for your comments, i now understand you really would like to do some tin flowing surgery smiley Just do it, find a motive, a piece of equipment you need/want to upgrade and start the search for a kit and project. Myself i have dived into my profession so deep that i have not had the headroom and time yet to get into electronic circuits and how it works so i only simply rely on "for dummies" projects and kit building. The more you work with kits and projects, the more fun it is and you´ll get your kicks by the few victorys among all disasters cheesy
When you need to deal with smd components, be shure to be comfortable with soldering, desoldering, cleaning, needed tools, plan your work and every operation- "measure twice, cut once". and not opposite.
Thanks

John:
I´m not shure how your your digital front-end is dealing with clocking but the DEQ is clocking internal. Would love to own a cd-pro like your´s(i have a diy cdm12 that is very nice). I could get a cd-pro like you, install a high end clock inside and then run a 75Ohm cable directly to the deq/dac and hardwire to the ruins of a desoldered stock clock inside the deq.

David,
you have an unleashed potential if the Behringer is in stock shape now and your standard says it is impressive!
