Why not look on eBay.de instead of .uk?

Ok Roger, then how about this one.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/United-Kingdom-ear834-Phono-diy-KIT-PCB-resistance-transistor-HIFI-DE-Shipping-/251910510587?hash=item3aa70957fb

At today's exchange rate that is only 3.75€ more than the UK one you posted above. I would expect this difference is due to posting items at different times, and dealing with different currencies.

Why not look on eBay.de instead of .uk?

I think Roger was looking on ebay.de, notice the language on the screenshot.
The 'United Kingdom' in the listing refers to the company, E.A.R Yoshino being in the UK.

I've had some problems with Ebay recently because of changes they've made. The seller's have just as many problems as the customers, all in the name of so-called 'improvements'.

I'd send a message to the seller Roger, they are helpful I've found.

Yup, well spotted Chris. However, the price is in GBP. I saw that and assumed it was the .uk site.

I´m with Chris on the Roger, send a message to the seller asking why you can´t buy the cheaper one.

Well I bought one in Germany - Very fast delivery ( 2 days ).

The riaa says the low input is 6.3V - I thought the input should be 12.6v (12ax7 tubes ) ???

And the high input says 285v DC - in two places (left/right) - but are they taken from the same source and simply split smiley

Ps : Sorry for my lousy spelling laugh

12AX7 can be operated either with 12.6 V or 6.3 V heater voltage.  The heater supply must be connected differently for the two options.  If the documentation for the kit specifies 6.3V then the PCB is configured for 6.3V operation.

Yes, the heater supply in this circuit is configured for 6.3V (heaters wired in parallel).
The high voltage is supplied to both sides of the circuit, so yes they are split. There are the 4 connection points on the power supply board, wire one +/- to one side of the circuit, the other +/- to the other side.

If the documentation for the kit specifies 6.3V.....
You don't get anything with this, not even a decent circuit diagram! Just what's marked on the boards, which can vary as we've discovered.

There is no + or - as such, just connect the two wires of your 6.3V supply to each of the two holes on the circuit board.
