You've made an extremely neat job of cutting the layers out - I'm impressed icon_thumright

That is some nice work so far! Clearly you know how to work plywood...

With all the science and pseudo-science around, we all forget that neither accommodates something infinitely more important than mass, strand orientation, damping factor, or the amount of cat-shibble bibble etc in bentonite: the sonic attributes of craftsmanship exhibited in a custom make by the prime listener... grin

As I find with every build on this site, I know I will enjoy seeing this come to fruition!

Thank you!

Spent some time planning this. Started with the top and worked my way down.

Jigsaw, router, sand - repeat

7 Layers of 3/4" baltic birch.

Plinth primed. Hole cut for tonearm. Stripped old paint off plate/platter and put on a coat of primer.

Making progress!

Very nice work, what kind of arm are you going to use, looks like an SME cutout.

Thanks!

Been busy with other things as of late, and have not been posting.

Yes, I'm putting an SME 3009 Series II Improved with fixed headshell and damping addition.

Have received both the Russian Idler wheel and the Lencohell mat for it.

Made an RCA adapter for the arm.

Also made a plate for the phono cable/ground.

Painting the IEC and the RCA plates same blue as the top plate

And this is not finished, but you'll get the idea of my color scheme

Thank you!!!

Can’t wait to finish sanding and getting a solid coat of lacquer on top of the paint and polishing to a mirror finish.

Very nice.  Particularly liked the RCA plates that you made. Clean, soothing color scheme.
