Hi there,
Some time ago I purchased a Bluesound Node (latest version). At that point I also started comparing streaming services, so for a while I've had subscriptions with Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz, switching between them.
The Spotify account will stay because we have a family account (the rest of the family love it), but I don't want to keep both Tidal and Qobuz.
I prefer Qobuz for a few reasons, but the usability through the BluOS app is terrible compared to how Tidal works through the same app.
So are there any Qobuz users here who could recommend ways to stream Qobuz without the frustration of the poor user interface? Some other streamer and/or app that could do a better job?
My main complaints with Qobus through BluOS are:
- Releases by an artist appear in seemingly random order. Albums and singles are mixed together and are not in chronological order.
- Artist pages don't show any "top tracks" etc. Just the list of releases as described above.
- Artists that go by the same name get mixed up and their releases are all thrown in together.
- Playlists generated by Qobuz (new releases etc) are not accessible.

Cheers!

Hi
I will try to add my few cents to this topic:
I experience the same problems as you but i am using a Yamaha streamer. If i use the Qobuz app, the problems are gone. If i use the app i have to depend on my Chomecast Audio streamer, toslinked into my D/A converter. A little more limited bandwith but my ears does not hear much difference. Another pro is that guests can cast their music to the system without needing to download the Yamaha app. I will keep Qobuz, sell the Yamaha streamer and go back to CCA, then the music is better organised with top-tracks from artists, etc.
Cheers

So Chromecast is the key? Does that let you control it from the official Qobuz app? What's the limitation?
Since the Chromecast Audio is no longer available I guess I could use any device that works with Google Cast? Primare have a little streamer that seems very similar to the Bluesound Node. It lacks a built-in DAC (not a problem for me) but has support for Google Cast. Should work, right?
I had been looking at Roon, but that requires a server and yet another subscription fee. I just don't feel like going down that road.
Thanks for the suggestion, Espen. I will see if the local hifi dealers will let me borrow the Primare streamer for a couple of days.

Hi Simon
Yes, you can cast directly from the app to the CCA dongle. If i remember right the limitation is 24/96 with CCA. With Roon it becomes really good as you dont use the Google protocol. Amir has some really good measurements of the CCA with Roon but like you said you need a server/pc/laptop. I want it easy so i removed the Yamaha streamer and now cast directly. Then i get the top tracks from the artists and a much easier way to stream. Guests can also stream without having to download the Yamaha app.
Cheers
