The turntable plays the record with no Discernible jumps or skips but when the USB is played back there are several present. IS this a problem with the turntable, USB stick or something else?

I tried purchasing a better quality USB stick which is faster read/write speed and larger capacity but it wont even record to this USB stick.

Any ideas or advice please

You do need a very good Analog to Digital ( USB stick ) Converter.
USB stick's are  cheap, but the Analog / Digital Converters certainly not. afro

Does a USB stick care whether the signal to be recordeed is analog ot digital?

This will be one of these new 'lenco' machines that has the facility to record to a usb stick.  Not our territory really.  Would be helpful to know the model maybe?  You could try using a very small capacity usb stick or transfering the recording to a computer for a closer look.  I stick mp3's onto a 2Gb stick to plug into a cd player that has the facility to play them and they sound pretty good considering.  Could do with a load of low volume drives to separate out the albums as they become unmanageable when large.

I don't know the exact setup being used here but I do know it's better to record/rip to hard disk first before transferring to a USB stick.

Thanks to all who replied.

I'm using the new Lenco L -85 Direct encoding turntable.

The Turntable records direct to the USB stick.

I don't think it will record to the larger capacity sticks.

It does record to a smaller capacity and I think the maximum capacity it can handle is a 32GB stick as most of these are formatted FAT32 as opposed to exFAT which the larger ones are. My Car media system wont recognise the exFAT format.

The sound quality on the recodings I have made are really good with the exceptions that jumps and skips appear that don't happen when playing the vinyl record.

Try formatting a USB flash drive (stick) to NTFS then making a recording.
