You wrote you had a pair AD3700AM to use.
And you wanted to buy a pair more (succes, even in Holland rare).
And you did not mention the AM with the AD4690(AM). Rather important.
I was concentrating on your wish about the AD3700AM.
The 3700 is too poor for a good bass, for that you need the 9710A f.e.
Philips combined sometimes two OTL speakers to get 800 ohm, f.e.
two of 400ohm in series. I have used that several times but in mono combinations.
If you want two different 800ohm speakers in a cabinet you need a cross over filter.
Or you need a bi-ampli stereo amp, or two bi-ampli mono blocks and a pre-amp.
I wish you succes.

If I make two speakers with the same drivers (for example, one with two 3700AD drivers and the other with two of the same) can I do without a crossover filter?

Actually, I don't care so much about sound quality to begin with. I just want to understand how OTL works. I just love good old Philips in all its forms.

Until now I had never heard the sound of a tube amplifier. And when a month ago I heard the AG9018 at a friend's vintage equipment dealer... My world turned upside down. I listened to an old tube Philips with 8-ohm Isophone speakers with my mouth open in amazement... Even though the sound source was an MD player(((. And after much deliberation we agreed on the price, and I can't wait to go to him again and pick up the AG9018!!!

As I wrote you can buy them still in metal.
The old plastic ones are rare and not made annymore.

You do not need this one, typical Philips for a short time.

How not? It works in two schemes: 8-16 Ohm and 800 Ohm

Why is it not needed? The tuner and phono are connected to the AG9018 via this plug!

Philips AG9018 amplifier  schematic is not OTL amplifier.

As I showed earlier here it IS. Please study carefully if you want something.
You can choose for OTL or 8-16 ohm.
That is why the AG9018 is two different connections for each speaker side.
