Hi Martijn ,Phil

first of all my files are stored here

http://www.mydrive.ch/

its free and quick no software needed ......but of course i have the original CD recordings i made .....I also have about 500 burnt cds ideally what id like is somewhere to store all this and a means of playing direct from the hard drive , thats why the 1st gen apple tv appealed but is there something better ?

That'll work for streaming, just keep in mind your internet connection needs to be fast enough to support the bit rate, and streaming music may help you reach your data limit much faster if you have one.

Downloaded Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots (Flaming Lips) and the Allman Brothers at the filmore East in 24/96 the other day.  Both sound fabulous.  Yoshimi is a completely different mix to my vinyl copy, more ethereal, less cluttered and even more whacky left right, front back effects.  Great fun if you like that sort of thing and want to see how good your set up is at imaging.  Well worth the money in MHO.  Allman Brothers - well I don't have to say anything about the quality of this live album.

Fabulous album - I'd be interested how it compares with the vinyl on Atlantic plum label.

Well I haven't got the album so it will have to wait until a get together. smiley
