Wooh. It seems like I win a lot of ebay auctions I don't necessarily intend to win these days  azn
First a Lenco 78 for 35€ and now a great transport for a mere 20€ including shippping costs...

So now I've got one of the great Philips Players using one of the best CD mechanisms available, the CDM-9.
And one of the few Philips players, that actually doesn't look too bad. cheesy

Lukasz Fikus of Lampizator fame modded one of these machines to compete with some of the best transports available.
http://lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/TRANSPORT/FIKUS/Fikustransport.html

I'll try to follow some of his suggestions, although I don't have the money right now to give it the new power supply he suggested.

So does any of you guys have any experiences with these machines?
All the best.  wink

I have no experience but it sure looks like a hefty machine!  afro

Still no feedback from the seller  embarrassed
His account is pretty young so maybe he won't bother shipping this player for a mere 12 bucks,(They go for about 80-100€ normaly on ebay...)
rather sacrificing the account...

Well, we'll see I guess...

Hi Torben, i would make the payment (if it is not a lot) to force the seller to do something.
If he does not react then, contact fleabay for help  evil

I payed as soon as I won the auction. Almost immediately  azn
I already had to contact pay pal on another occasion. I would only get my money back though, no way to force the seller to send the item...
Which is what I would like to have. My Cd Player.  azn

So I'm just going to wait a few days longer. And if nothing happens, then, yes, I will be forced to contact Pay Pal...
Still hoping to get the player though embarrassed

Sorry to disappoint you but I've got one of these, they're mostly air inside.

 azn Good to know
It seems that the Power transformer is rather small/poor...

How do you like it otherwise if I may ask?  angel

I'm ashamed to admit that I've only listened to it through headphones.

I'm a bit of a magpie and at the moment I've got a philips 304 and 2 philips 104 that I've picked up this year that I haven't listed to either.

I did take the 930 to get rid of at scalford but nobody seemed to want it.

I use one of these. It is lighter than my Marantz players.

I rate it as very good. For the money SH...........out of this world in fact.
With the same LP and CD it will out perform a Lenco or my Ariston RD 11. Of course.......because they are not esoteric or costly peeps don't want to know. All IMHO.

Whoo, that good ha?  azn
No, I don't think it can outperform MY Lenco  afro
If it does though, I would be quite baffled ^^

Gonna keep a close eye on this and thanks for chiming in Lexi, glad you enjoy it  cheesy

Well of course  azn
Everyone is preoccupied, right?^^
No point denying it.

That's why blind listening tests were invented.
It's gonna be difficult though to honestly blind test a cd player against a turntable.
