Yes Torben, you are also right on bass 'essence' and if I didn't mention it, the bass registers are really good. As I listen through my Celestion SL600 I am really surprised as I know the speakers are capable of astonishingly revealing bass and all-of-a-sudden Wham' it was there when I put the Philips in the chain. And yes too, no garble while remaining cohesive, with lots of swing and groove.

It's been a long time, but I finally opened my player.

And someone has already played with it huh
There is a big mat of damping material inside the chassis. And I think I've spotted a larger than normal power cap, with pecualiar soldering joints ^^
